Our Prediction:

Colorado will win

Colorado State – Colorado Match Prediction | 28-08-2019 22:00

All signs point to the Buffaloes being greatly improved on that side of the ball and I think we could end up seeing a similar outcome to when these two teams met in 2016, which Colorado won 44-7 as a mere 8-point favorite. Keep in mind that while Colorados defense took a big step back last year, they only gave up a mere 3 points to a talented Colorado State offense that went on to average 33.4 ppg.

The departure of WR Preston Williams from the Rams weakened its offense and Colorado will clamp on this weakness for the win. Predicted to win this contest is Colorado to a score of 33-17 covering ATS. The NCAAF Pick for this game is the Colorado Buffaloes -13.5. Colorado has better star players in their ranks that the Rams will find difficult to contain. Buffaloes OL Jacob Moretti will not play this season with a knee injury. Colorado State Rams vs Colorado Buffaloes. Rams CB Braylin Scott is out of this match due to eligibility status.

Colorado State Rams are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 matches against the Buffaloes and 0-5 SU in its last 5 games. Colorado State has Collin Hill for a veteran QB who took over in the second half of the 2018 NCAA season. The Rams offense are weak and easy to defend. The weakness will hinder the Rams from defeating the Buffaloes early this year in the onset of the regular season. Hill did not show much of his skills as the team succumbed to elimination last year.

Were going to look good. The best offshore gambling sites have the Colorado Buffaloes as a 6.5-point road dog against the Colorado State Rams. We need to put it all together in fall camp so we have it ready to take into the season. Then again, its easy to be optimistic when youre 0-0. Colorado only received one first-place vote. But the Buffs remain optimistic. Also known as a pity vote. I think we have a really good team; really good offense, a really good defense, as well. CU was picked to finish 5th out of six schools in the Pac 12 South Division. Im excited, QB Steven Montez said. Members of the media also have no love for the Buffs.

More Mountain West Basketball!

1 receiver in a Bobo offense that has been very kind to the likes of Williams and Dallas Cowboys wideout Michael Gallup. Jackson's moment came two years ago on the road against Alabama, in which he caught two touchdowns and mossed Baltimore Ravens corner Anthony Averett. This leaves Jackson as the No. Last year's star wideouts in Preston Williams and Olabisi Johnson are currently with the Dolphins and Vikings, respectively.

Its interesting to note that this is a near identical scheduling scenario to last year, when Colorado State hosted Oregon State in Week Zero and had to turn around and play Colorado the following Friday. It continued a dominant stretch for Colorado in this in-state rivalry, as they have won 8 of the last 10 meetings, including all 3 since Mike Bobo replaced Jim McElwain at Colorado State. The Buffaloes ended up winning that contest 17-3.

While Colorado will be playing their season opener, the Rams were in action this past Saturday, as they hosted Hawaii in Mountain West play. It was a lot more lopsided than the final score would indicate, as the Rainbow Warriors had a 37-7 lead with less than 5 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. Colorado State went into that game as a heavy 17-point favorite, but would lose outright 34-43.

A 6-5, 230 pound passer with a hose for a right arm, Montez has the luxury of being able to go downfield to Shenault, a 6-2, 220 pound wideout who racked up 1,011 yards last year and will be a first-round pick this year. That duo paired with a CSU defense that ranked 117th in points allowed last year is a recipe for disaster. Montez is a fifth-year senior at quarterback who has thrown 37 touchdowns against 18 picks in his last two years as the starter in Boulder.

Bobo and the Rams could be in for a rough year, as the loss of starting quarterback KJ Carta-Samuels paired with the departures of Williams and Johnson could be the nail in the coffin for the offense. If Montez and Shenault are healthy and Tucker is able to implement a defense that is similar to what he oversaw at Georgia, the Buffaloes should have no trouble with this one.

While Colorado only has 4 starters back on offense from last year, there actually in a lot better shape than people realize. Not only do they have a talented quarterback in Montez, but they added in Virginia Tech transfer Travon McMillian at running back, which will ease the loss of Phillip Lindsay, who left as the schools #2 all-time rusher. They also have a couple of Power 5 transfers in Juwaan Winfree (Maryland) and Tony Brown (Texas Tech) at wide receiver.

As long as our win total isnt seven this year, Ill be happy but lets go for more than seven, running back Izzy Matthews said. A nine-win season for us I dont want to say its not going to be hard but its not outlandish. Our goal is to go out there and win 12 games. The Rams, on the other hand, are a tad more realistic.

However, this is an in-state rivalry, meaning that things could get pretty wild. The Rams limped to a 3-9 finish last season, so neither school is burdened with high expectations for the 2019 season. New Colorado head coach and former Georgia defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will get his first taste of life as Buffaloes head coach when he takes on their hated in-state rival in Mike Bobo and Colorado State.

Meanwhile, Colorado is looking to get back to a bowl game after dipping to 5-7 in 2017. There's no time to dwell on that as the Rams have to get ready for their in-state nemesis in Denver on a short week. Colorado State has already started the 2018 season and did so with a somewhat surprising loss in Week Zero to Hawaii despite being a two-touchdown favorite.
