This has been a very impressive start by them, they look controlled and assured and their comprehensive victory in the Milan Derby at the weekend will have only boosted their confidence further. A big game at the top of Serie A and by the time we get to this, Inter Milan may have been knocked off of top spot. That could all be temporary though, with a win here guaranteeing them to be top going into the weekend, regardless of what the other teams do.

The Nerazzurri look unstoppable at the start of the season, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. The Biancocelesti, on the other hand, recorded a routine 2-0 win over Parmat at their Stadio Olimpico at the weekend, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Wednesdays football match against the league leaders.

Our prediction for this Serie A match:

A title seems quite a way off still, but their fans will be feeling good right now thanks to their overall play. There is a lot to like about the way that Inter have started the season, and if they can somehow keep this going then there is every chance that they can pull a little closer towards the likes of Juventus and Napoli in the title race.

Summer signing Romelu Lukaku has been scoring goals for fun at the start of the new Serie A season and we predict that the former Manchester United man is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. The Nerazzurri are brimming with confidence following a 2-0 win over Milan in the Derby della Madonnina and Antonio Contes troops will be looking to retain top position in the standings with a win over Lazio on Matchday 5. All eyes will be on Stadio Giuseppe Meazza when Inter and Lazio face each other in the Serie A derby on Wednesday evening.

Aside from only managing to bag a point against Slavia Praha in their Champions League opener last week, Inter have conceded just a single goal in their opening four Serie A appearances. Along with shinning at the back, Conte does have one leading man who is enjoying a stellar start to life in Italy. Former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has three goals in his opening four Serie A matches since making the move from Old Trafford over the summer. Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of yet another very eye-catching display and picking up Milan bragging rights with a 2-0 win over bitter rivals AC, the mood around the San Siro continues to soar. Looking to land their first Italian crown for the first time since 2010, there is no doubt that Wednesdays hosts will be most impressed by their newfound defensive resolve. Really starting to shine since appointing former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte over the summer, I Nerazzurri are the only side to boast a 100% start to the new Serie A campaign and now hold a two-point buffer at the top of the table.

The Biancocelesti are historically bad when it comes to facing their big rivals. Last term Lazio picked up just three points from 24 against the top four. They are measuring themselves against the vert best in the league, which theyve been poor at over the years. Of course, Lazio could be under pressure again given the magnitude of this trip. They also lost at six of the top seven.

The home team is unbeaten at their own turf for the past eight bouts. Moreover, they have lost only two clashes in the previous ten overall home matches in major competitions. Being the table-toppers at the early start of the season may not seem stable for many, but the hosting contingent is in a very good form in recent times. Besides that, the traveling side has lost the previous two away fixtures in their schedule.

Goal Margins

Continuing to enjoy quite the resurge since Antonio Conte returned to Italy over the summer, Inter Milan should see Wednesday as another chance to extend their 100% start and lay down another marker. With Lazio showing some issues on their travels, including a shock 2-1 defeat away at Romanian outfit CFR Cluj last week, were backing the hosts to come away with the three points in midweek.
