Liverpool (@1.06) vs Genk (@36.0)

Our Prediction:

Liverpool will win

Liverpool – Genk Match Prediction | 05-11-2019 15:00

The Guinean scored three goals in five games back in April before an injury early in the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona ruled him out for the rest of the season. Following his game-changing cameo at the weekend, Naby Keita looks likely to start against Genk. Or 14/1 to do so as the first goalscorer. He is 15/4 to get on the scoresheet. Could he score on his first start of the season for the Reds?

The Reds have been impressive in the Premier League this season and seeing that they are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Genk, we are tempted to put our money on Jurgen Klopps troops. Liverpool quickly bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Napoli, with the team recording a hard-fought 4-3 win over Salzburg in their last league match. The title holders aim to overtake Napoli in top position in the standings and we do not believe that the Belgians are capable of shocking Mohamed Salah and Co.

Match preview

They need their star man to step back up again.Roberto Firmino Set up two of Liverpools four goals in their narrow win against RB Salzburg on match day two. Sadio Mane While he had a goal disallowed by VAR for handball at the weekend, he still has six goals and an assist so far this season.Virgil van Dijk Liverpools back line has been shaky in recent weeks not least against Salzburg.

Genk drew with Napoli in their most recent Champions League game, holding them to a goalless draw in Belgium, but their league form has been patchy at best around it. They did come from behind to beat Royal Excel Mouscron 2-1 Paul Ebere Onuachu scoring twice but a 1-0 defeat to Standard Liege last weekend leaves them sixth in the table. Their previous game was abandoned due to crowd trouble just moments after Genk had thrown a 3-0 lead away to be drawing 3-3 with Sint-Truiden.

Genk may have a solid home record in Europe recently, but their goal lived a charmed life in the draw with Napoli and Liverpool's attack looks well equipped to break down their defence. It has been a while since the Reds claimed an away group-stage win in this competition, but we are backing them to do exactly that here, and in quite comfortable fashion too.

It has to be noted that the Genk attacker was named African Player of the Year (based in Africa) in 2015. His contract with Genk should expire on June 30, 2020. Speaking of his international debut, Samatta made his Tanzania debut in March, 2011 in a 2-1 win over Central African Republic. His main position is centre-forward, but is capable of playing as a winger as well.

Genk vs Liverpool prediction comes before 3rd round fixture of the Champions League group stage at Luminus Arena in Genk. We are about to see an interesting game between one of the contenders for the top place and the underdogs of the group E.

Virgil van Dijk is the best centre-back in the Premier League, he has a superb partnership with Joel Matip and Alisson is back, but they make mistakes. Liverpool are vulnerable at the back. If the opposition can squeeze the full-backs, Liverpool cannot get the service into the front men and it is easier to predict and defend - it does not have the same effect.
